To all the men out there. Periods are painful and we need to be there for our loved ones. Here are some tips to get you through this.

  • Understand: Be understanding and patient, as hormonal changes can affect mood and energy levels. You need to empathize with them and be there for them.

  • Physical Comfort: Offer physical comfort if she wants it, like a heating pad for cramps or a back rub. You need to communicate and decide what helps ease the pain.

  • Chores: While she is resting you need to take on extra household chores or responsibilities. I know it’s hard but caring for them will make you happy at the end of the day.

  • Food: Buy her favorite snacks or foods she's cravings. Make sure not to go overboard, and try to keep a balance between healthy and junk food.

  • Respect: Respect her space if she needs time alone. Don’t take it personally since every woman deals with periods differently.

  • Don’t Judge: Sometimes all you can do is give a listening ear without trying to solve her problems. Listen without judgment if she wants to talk about how she's feeling.

  • Ask: This may seem obvious but simply ask her what she needs since everyone experiences periods differently.

  • Study up: Lastly, educate yourself about menstruation to better understand what she's experiencing. This may help you be a better partner when she needs you the most.
