Today’s Question: How do I deal with self-entitled people?

The world is filled with entitled people. It especially sucks when they tend to ruin your day. Here is what you can do about it.

  • The first step is to learn how to set boundaries. Make it clear what behavior is and is not acceptable from them. The key is to never allow them to take advantage of you.

  • A good trick to try is reverse psychology. Entitled people often try to make you feel guilty or inadequate, when you try to appear calm and confident, you will be immune to all their tactics.

  • You should remember not to give in to their unreasonable demands just to keep the peace. All this does is reinforce the entitlement they have.

  • You need to know when to disengage with them. If they refuse to adjust their attitude, you need to keep your distance for your own mental well-being.

What I have learned from experience is that most entitled people cannot be reasoned with, so don’t waste your energy trying to reason with them. The key is to set boundaries and limit their presence in your life. Good luck to you :)
