Today’s Question: How do I learn to cook?

This is an exciting question. Cooking is an important skill we all need in our lives. Here is how you can get started.

  • The first thing to remember is not to try overly complicated dishes when you're first starting out. Keep it simple and low effort. Look for recipes with just a few ingredients and straightforward instructions and get started.

  • You need to first focus on the basics like chopping vegetables, sautéing and boiling. Mastering basic skills will help you in the long run. There are tons of YouTube tutorials out there to help you out.

  • You should also consider investing in the right kitchen tools like pots, pans, and knives. This will make cooking much easier for a beginner. You don’t have to buy fancy equipment, just stick to the essentials.

  • Don’t try to experiment from the very beginning. As a noobie try following the recipes as closely as you can. Also, keep your cooking workspace clean and tidy.

  • The last tip I will leave you with is to keep tasting the dish as you go. Check for seasoning, spice levels, and overall taste. It will take time to get used to putting the right amount of salt, sugar, and spices in things, so start by adding a little bit and continue to add after tasting the dish. After all less salt is always better than a really salty dish.

This journey takes time and effort. It is a life skill, so don’t get discouraged by some flops. At the end of the day, the more you cook the better you get at it. Happy cooking.
