Today’s Question: How do I find a new job?

We are going through a recession, and the job market is poor. I will try my best to help you out.

  • A recruiter only looks at your resume for 8 seconds, so try to keep your achievements and specialization on the top of your resume.

  • The second step is to identify the type of job, industry, and companies that interest you. Never be afraid to shamelessly knock on doors to find the right opportunities. Cold emails may help you out too.

  • While finding a job, you will require a strong network to find the right opportunities, and the right connections can land you the right jobs.

  • Websites like Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and industry-specific boards can help you find openings. Try to make posts on LinkedIn regarding your knowledge of the industry. This can impress recruiters.

  • While preparing for interviews always do your research on the company’s history, and mission and try to think about what value you bring to the table.

  • Try to focus on one or two skills and master it. You don’t have to be the jack of all trades but you definitely need to master one. Try to upskill yourself and always be ready to learn new skills.

Finding a new job can take time, so be patient and persistent, and don’t take rejections personally. Good luck out there.
